Directions to the American Studies Center
at the University of Bahrain
Make sure to contact either Dr. John Hillis at 39894391 or Dr. Colin Cavell at 17438775 at least one working day prior to your visit, so that we can alert the guards at the front gate of the University of Bahrain and they will put you and your party on their list.
To get to the University of Bahrain, follow the signs to the "International Circuit", as the racetrack is right next to the University. Once you come to the Main Entrance of the University (you will see signs), enter into Gate No. 1, the Main Entrance. Stop and tell the guards who you are and that you need to park in the faculty parking lot next to building S17 or Parking Area No. 3. They will check and see if your name and the name(s) of your party are on their list of official visitors. The guards will then escort you to the Area 3 parking lot and let you in. Then proceed to walk to building S17 and on up to the American Studies Center in Room 229.
You can ask some of the students where S17 is or where the English Department is (same building) or where the American Studies Center is (same building). Or you can call Dr. John Hillis at 39894391 or Dr. Colin Cavell at 17438775 when you get near the university, and either one of us can direct you as you drive in via phone. Once you arrive at the building, S17, then proceed up to the American Studies Center which is located in Room S17-229.
