On 31 March 2006, the IEE and IIE formed a new organization, the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET). The Institution welcomes involvement from and communication between all sectors of science, engineering and technology. Some of Activities by IET Bahrain Network
- Technical Programs
- To hold regular meetings on reading of papers, delivery of lectures (seminars) , presentation of demonstrations, and discussion of electrical, electronic and manufacturing engineering subjects, for the benefit of members.
- Technical Visits
To arrange visits, social meetings which give new inspiration and knowledge to our members.- Continuing Education
The IET has emphasized considerably the importance of continuing professional development. The centre has, in order to improve this area, establish a function post in charge of continuing education. Short courses will be organized drawing expertise from local industry/institution as well as from overseas.- Training
The Centre has established its Training Committee to provide support to member/companies on training scheme, requirement and carry out accreditation of training schemes.- External Affairs
There has been continuous discussion with other institutions such as the Bahrain-Branch and the IEEE to foster closer relationship in promoting learned-society activities.
